Presentations

A presentation that really stuck out to me was the one about the animal shelter. Showing the video and pictures of the animals got my attention. The way she talked about the cause and how much good it did was a good tactic when approaching a topic like this. It's hard to forget the faces on those dogs and cats. Using these pictures, I think, will make the presentation one of the most remembered. I know I felt like I wanted to help out the cause, so I can bet that some others in the class did also.

Comment on Web 2.0

The machine is us/ing us is an interesting title. I see it more as the machine is using us. These machines are smarter than most people, all they need are the commands from us to make things happen. The more technology advances, the easier writing, posting, viewing videos and listening to audio clips will be. Technology as grown so much you can now even watch videos on your cell phone and surf the web while riding on a train. Web 2.0 is allowing this to happen. The thing that is getting so complex is the programming. Just as the video showed, web 2.0 is emerging thanks to command line prompting. Web 2.0 can greatly affect someone in the work force right now. I feel like people in the work force now are just getting used to what we would call "web 1.0." The more advanced the web gets, the farther away the current work force will get to being up to date on it. Someone who is ready to enter the work force, i believe, has an advantage because they have time. People entering right now are learning how to use the web everyday. Such as checking e-mail, surfing the web for fun and doing papers and research for school helps. I think that when the video talked about us needing to rethink everything, it is referring tho the fact that everything is changing and for this reason, we are going to need to rethink how we do things.

About Me

My name is Jay Cranford. I am a junior majoring in Business Management with an emphasis in Information Systems. I am from Greenville, South Carolina. This is my fourth year of school but i transfered in two years ago and lost credits so that has set me behind. My freshman year I attended Gardner-Webb University where I played baseball. I had surgery on my shoulder and was no longer able to play.

I have grown up coming to Clemson football games and I enjoy being here. I am a very relaxed person and I am very easy to work with. I look forward to meeting everyone in the class.
